Essie Jane
I’m absolutely exhausted today. I worked all day yesterday and stayed up till 2am, then had school all day today and am getting sick because of this crappy weather. Fittingly enough, I finally got around to reading the email I received from Alysia over at BaDaBing! Records about Essie Jane.
Her bio states the following:
“Essie was born and raised in London, England, thus making her very British. She is now based out of New York city. Her music is gentle, warm, open and intimate”
I don’t have to say much more than that little bio sums up. She’s a London born beauty that now makes gentle, yet wonderful music out of New York City. I’d describe her as a slight mix of Joanna Newsom and Vashti Bunyan and her music, the two songs available at her site at least, were the perfect compliment to my wanting to do absolutely nothing once I got home from school. Lying in bed, drifting to sleep as Essie sang “I am right behind you” in the song “Haze”.
I can’t guarantee you’ll like Essie’s music right off the bat, or that it’s even your style of music, but I can guarantee you’ll be exhausted someday soon and wanting some good, soothing music to relax you. Luckily, we’ve got Essie Jane for that.
