Alamo Race Track

I don’t think I like Alamo Race Track. But for some reason I keep listening to their music videos while I do stuff. So much so that I thought it odd, and thus decided to do a little post on them for you to decide. I had their name written on one of the many post-its that line my computer screen full of “blog ideas” as I like to call them, and I had forgotten why I even wrote their name down. After some searching I finally found their live performance in the streets of Paris for La Blogotheque on youtube and realized that’s why “La Blogotheque” was on the same post-it note.
The more I listen, the more I think I like them because I like Grizzly Bear. Both have that strange ability to not quite hold my attention with the songs on their albums, but I can’t get enough of them acoustic style and live. The La Blogotheque video for their song “The Northern Territory” is a prime example. They obviously have singing talent and make great songs, they just have a habit of using a lot of unecessary distortion in the studio versions. Of course, this is coming from someone who knows very little about the band besides that they’re from Netherlands and then all the stuff I said above. Check out the one mp3 I could find, then watch some of the videos which are much better.
