How About Some TV?

I don’t know what the deal is, but it’s been a bit slow on the music front lately. Well, for me at least and finding stuff I really like enough to post. I’m not too big a fan of Nine Inch Nails, but that came out yesterday much to the excitement of a few of my friends, who’ve been following the strange NIN puzzles around the net up until now. I’m just going to have to sift a little harder through the net tomorrow I guess. Until I find some truly great music, here’s some truly great TV to enjoy for the moment.

The last two episodes of The Office:

I don’t think there’s any better moments on TV right now than when Michael has to talk about Toby, or like in The Negotiation, ride all the way to corporate in the same car as Toby. Good stuff.

Scrubs:

You can’t really just jump into a random Scrubs episode without knowing the background story. Still funny, but I know a lot of people that hated it b/c they’d only watch a random episode here or there on Comedy Central. Most of those people I gave my seasons 3 and 4 dvd’s to watch the whole way through and realize there’s a pretty good story to follow all throughout Scrubs and now they enjoy it a lot more. So, if you hate this show, watch the whole seasons here and then tell me what you think.

Curb Your Enthusiasm

I couldn’t pick a specific episode from this season since I’ve enjoyed them all so much. So just pick one and go, although this is a lot like Scrubs as well so watching from start to finish will give you the overall story.

Extras

Ricky Gervais’ newest show about people trying to make a living as extras on movie sets. It’s easily my favorite show on tv at the moment. Ricky created The Office UK and co-produced the US version, but extras I’ve found to be just as good. It’s that fast, witty UK subtle humor at its best. The sad thing is, just like he did with The Office, there’s only two seasons and then it’s over. I heard he’s contemplating doing another season, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he just moves on to create yet another great show. We’ll see.

I normally wouldn’t do a post like this, but in the last few years TV has gone way uphill in quality and the shows have gotten really great. There’s plenty of duds in the mix, but the best of the best are up there with Seinfeld or the Simpsons back when they were in their prime. It’s a good trend I really hope doesn’t end soon.

Click here for the full size comic. I haven’t posted Get Fuzzy in a very very long time, which is odd considering I posted one a day for a while there, but this one had a pretty good Extras reference. “Is he havin’ a laugh!?” Watch Season 2 to get it.
