Meet the Robinsons
Meet the Robinsons
Score: 8/10
What a pleasant surprise Meet the Robinsons is. My sister said she loved it, so I decided why not. As with most computer animated kids movies, the people working on the movie spend sometimes years on it, so I expected a great story and clever ideas throughout, I just didn’t expect it to be this good. There’s really no difference between the quality of this movie and those of Pixar, and the actual Robinson family were as crazy as any characters Pixar has created.
Many of you may just dismiss this as a kids movie, as I very nearly did, but like most Pixar movies there’s a lot here for us grown-ups to enjoy. I laughed out loud at a lot of parts, was amazed by the creativity of the future world with all the inventions, and thought the story was great. Without giving too much of the plot away, it’s basically about a genius boy who’s an orphan and can’t get adopted because his inventions keep getting in the way. Then, a boy from the future comes back to help make sure he gets an invention right before the bad guy steals it, or the future will be changed forever. It’s a simple story, but the Robinson family he meets in the future really make the movie so great. I realize most of you won’t get past the fact that it’s a kids movie, but like all Pixar movies I loved this one and would recommend it to anyone, whether you have kids or are just looking for a feel good flick to watch.
