Classic Perch Mix #1
This is a new feature I’m going to start here not because I’m lazy and don’t want to make new Perch Mixes, but because a lot of the Perch Mixes from the xanga days are still absolutely excellent mixes of songs well worth sharing again. Most of my Perch Radio playlist were compiled mainly by sifting through my old Perch Mixes and picking out my favorite songs from those. This one in particular may be my all time favorite because it combines the soundtracks of four of my favorite movies into one grand movie soundtrack. If you’re unaware of the brilliance of any of these four movie soundtracks, do yourself a favor and go check them out. The composers are some of the best working today and include Yann Tiersen, Jon Brion, and Mark Mothersbaugh. It’s not really a mix you can just listen to individually. I’d recommend downloading the whole thing, then listening to it straight through when you have time. I ordered the songs originally so they would flow into one another with the imaginary scenes. Feel free to make up your own story with the following elements: Quirky and shy French girl, ivy league school, deep sea adventures, and the artificial loss of memories while surrounded in a world of paranoia and love. That’d be a pretty damn good movie if you ask me.

Yann Tiersen!
Amazing movie AND soundtrack! Other than that I’ve only seen Royal Tenenbaums which was also amazing. I’ve been wanting to check the other two out though. If you like yann, you might like detektivbyran. Well.. they’re different, but both have an accoridon… Enjoy.
