School’s Out Forever
No seriously. I just filled out the last bubble on my last scantron test ever (which ironically the answer was C), and I’m officially done with school. It’s hard to believe I’ve been at this place for four whole years, but it’s all over now. Now it’s on to the real world. I plan on working a lot this summer to make some money, then on the side all summer and then full head of steam in the fall myself and two others are going to get our record label started. All you have to do is promise me you’ll support us once we get it going. There’re six bands interested so far, and seven once we finish my album. Remember my rant about the big labels alienating their fans and just not getting it? Well, that’s going to be our main goal. Most our music is going to be available for free and we split the profits from downloads, cd sales, merch, and shows we set up 50/50 with the band. I guarantee you we won’t be making much money to start, but I also guarantee you that if we pull off the interwoven community between our bands and their fans, people will take notice.
I’ll fill you guys in with more details about that in the near future. We’re working on contracts and the business end at the moment so we can get things started, but I figured I’d let you know my big plans post-graduation. This morning honestly couldn’t have been any better. It’s one of those rare days where I actually woke up refreshed, passed my last final with a decent effort I think, got $79 for my Human Resource book, and listened to the only song really appropriate for such a fine day the whole way home:
E.L.O. – Mr. Blue Sky
Decemberists’ cover Mr. Blue Sky

The only thing that would’ve made today better is if my mom would’ve used the graduation announcements I originally wanted.

Hope you’re day’s great and sorry for the lack of a decent post. I’m in too good a mood to sit at the computer today. Also, tomorrow I may not have time to post because of me having to graduate college and all. Maybe I’ll post a Perch Mix tonight before bed to make up for it. Here’s a new Polyphonic Spree song for you from Matt over at You Ain’t No Picasso. It’s from their upcoming album The Fragile Army, which is making me more and more of a Spree fan with each listen. I wasn’t too into them before, but this album is great.
