The Hourly Radio
The Hourly Radio sort of came out of nowhere lately. Their sound usually isn’t exactly my cup of tea. The downstroke heavy guitar, and straight-forward bass, drums, lead guitar accompaniment. But the more I listened to songs like “Crime Does Pay”, “Deaf Ears”, and even the slower numbers like “First Love is Forever”, I kept enjoying the unexpected change of pace The Hourly Radio were providing. I didn’t realize just how mellow and string heavy the music I’d been listening to was until I pop something like Radio’s History Will Never Hold Me and I literally jump upon the first big guitar entrance. Although, I will say the opening instrumental track, “Travelsigns”, is a little too close to Radiohead’s “Subterranean Homesick Alien” from OK Computer for my taste, but I’ll live.
I’ve got good ‘ol college graduation coming up, so don’t expect full blown knock your socks off posts because I’m about to be really swamped with finals and graduation coming up. You guys really enjoyed that Perch Radio playlist though, over 1,500 people have looked at it so far.
