New Hot Hot Heat Single - “Let Me In”

I’ve always been a fan of Hot Hot Heat since Make Up the Breakdown invaded my collection with it’s catchy pop goodness. But not being able to reproduce this sound resulted in a lot of hostility for the band among the media and then losing a key member of the band that helped give them their unique bouncy guitar and synth sound also hurt a lot. While I still enjoyed Elevator more than most apparantly did, I have high hopes for their upcoming album Happiness Ltd. I’ve only heard a few songs, but it seems their sound keeps getting bigger, more well-produced, and the songs themselves lean towards the better songwriting aspect rather than completely for fun. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the bouncy, crazy lyrics of old Hot Hot Heat days, but I like where they’ve been heading. Also, I’m speaking purely on the three or so songs I’ve heard so far and all of the above could end up being me just rambling for no reason should the rest of the album be super poppy…but I kind of doubt that. Be sure to check out their myspace to hear the song “Give Up” which I absolutely love.

You know what, I actually liked Elevator WAY better than Make Up The Breakdown…although you can’t be Bandages, that’s the best song!
I wasn’t even aware that some people could not enjoy Elevator, they’re off their meds!
