I finally gave Windmill’s Puddle City Racing Lights a listen and absolutely love it. The guy’s voice may get to some of you, but think of it as a more emotionally driven Band of Horses. Actually, now that I think about it, Windmill is a lot like Destroyer, so if you enjoyed Destroyer’s Rubies, then I’ll bet you’ll love that album. I’ll be sure to post about Windmill next week. Not sure why I haven’t yet. As for the rest of the list, you’ve got a Bloc Party song from one of their recent EP’s, a song crazy full of emotion that I’m quite enjoying in “Best Tasting Wool in the Whole World”, a haunting number by a recent favorite of mine in Jesca Hoop, and I end the mix with three great songs from three great singer/songwriters. Zooey Dechanel sings on that M. Ward song, which is off the Go-Getter OST. Not sure what She’s the girl that was in Elf with Will Ferrell and sang with him, or if you’re a Weeds fan, she’s the crazy ex-girlfriend that takes the youngest kid on an illegal road trip. I wouldn’t mind running away with Zooey myself. Zooey, if you’re reading this, call me.

Great compilation! Well done.
