Will Stratton - What the Night Said
First off…Pandora.com. Go there, register, and listen to the best internet radio has to offer. Well, maybe not the best, but it’s great. Just type in someone like Ben Folds and it plays Ben Folds and all kinds of other bands that are eerily accurate in comparison to Folds. I can’t get enough of it.

I’ve been on a crazy singer/songwriter fix since first hearing Fionn Regan’s amazing album The End of History. Will Stratton kind of came out of nowhere, but I’m definitely not complaining. Stratton’s music is all the more impressive considering he is only 20. The songs found throughout What the Night Said recall the prettier moments of Sufjan and also bring comparisons to Nick Drake musically. Add to this the fact that Stratton somehow got Sufjan to play oboe on two of his songs, and you’ve got a good formula for success. As with most folk singer/songwriters, his music won’t appeal to everyone, but if you’re like me, then there’s always a time and place for relaxing, well made singer/songwriter stuff like this. You may just have to figure out when and where you’ll need the gentle tunes of Will Stratton.

woah, this Pandora thing, awesome as knulla.
