The Perch Gets Political

I hate politics, but I like genuinely good people. Any more I couldn’t tell you if I was a democrat or a republican…well, probably not a republican I’d have to admit, but I’ve never been hardcore one or the other. Politics in general have just turned into a despicable mess of power, greed, and ego and the American people got left behind a long time ago. It’s all about trying to say the right things and saving face the minute you don’t. Luckily, the power manipulation in the White House is finally being addressed and the American people are finally fed up with it. How for so long people have chosen to turn a blind eye towards the mess we’ve got ourselves in because gay marriage or stem cell research was, for some reason, the most important thing that just had to be addressed and fought over while our troops in Iraq were dying is beyond me.
I won’t make this a long rant. People know how I feel about politics and there’s no need to beat a dead horse, but I came across an open letter to Fox News about their coverage of the most recent Republican forum and was blown away. Fox News is terrible, that’s a given. Unfair and unbiased. It’s all been seen before, but this debate was absolutely ridiculous. Why? Because of Ron Paul. I’m quickly becoming a big fan of this man and while I can’t see every one of his grand ideas coming into fruition, he sure can defend himself on his stances. And the fact that he’s running for a party that absolutely seems to despise him, who makes fun of him every chance they get, and even laughs in his face when he says something they find ridiculous (see: 5:25, 3:10, and 1:23 left to go marks when Guliani and Romni laugh out loud at Ron Paul).
I just watched this video and couldn’t agree more with the writer of that open letter. If I had a say in who would be facing off for President, I’d go with Obama v. Paul. Like the author states, that’s the Republicans’ worst nightmare and they’re obviously trying to make sure that never happens. They’re just happy they’ve got such loyal help from such corrupt cable networks masquerading as news stations. Alright, I’m done with my rant. Things to look for in this video. Ron Paul being laughed at by Guliani and Romney, the sarcastic and demeaning way the panel moderators ask each question towards Paul, Paul’s confident answers in the face of obvious ridicule, and finally, the crowd’s reaction. Considering the stuff he was talking about at a Republican debate, the fact that he was only boo’d a few times and the cheers far outnumbered the boos says a lot.

Thanks for pointing this out. I usually wouldn’t pay much attention to a Republican debate but after listening to Ron Paul’s statements I find that I agree with him far more than I would expect to.
