The Republic Tigers revisited

For some reason I ended up staying up until 7am this morning. It’s a bit surreal sitting on my porch with a few of the gang still up with me and seeing people start their morning run or the trash guys starting to work when we’ve yet to go to sleep for the night. This obviously has led to me being a zombie today and since I’ve been listening to The Republic Tigers all afternoon, I figured revisiting their music wasn’t a bad idea at all. I think they’ve just got a demo album out. They’re on the Oxblood Records comp with “Made Concrete” so I imagine that’s their label. I just personally can’t wait for their album because it’s going to be fantastic. There’s really no one making music like them out there right now, and the fact that they’re from the Kansas City area makes them even cooler in my book. Start with Made Concrete if you’ve yet to hear any of their songs, then go over to their myspace and listen to both Whale Fight and Patterns streaming. Patterns is such a good song. Alright, enjoy the music and sorry for the lackluster post. I’m going to go meet with the booking agent for Randy Bacon’s gallery, which is super exciting, so we can get our bands opening up for big indie acts like John Vanderslice and David Bazan. LemonDrop fo’ life!

So, um . . . love ALL of those songs.
