The Soul’s Release
It really is funny how life hands me oddly appropriate music at random exactly when I need it. Take last night for example. I’m exhausted after working my third straight 8 hour day, so I was in the mood for something relaxing. The gentler moments of Godspeed, or perhaps something from Sigur Ros. I got on my myspace like usual and found a single friend request from a band called The Soul’s Release. What does their music sound like? Like the gentler moments of Godspeed mixed in with some Sigur Ros. It was pretty strange how perfectly that happened to work out, and after downloading his EP, which Alex, the man behind the one man band, offers for free on his myspace, I just sat most of the night dosing in and out of sleep with that EP on repeat. It’s truly beautiful music in that atmospheric, calm sort of way and it was perfect for my current mood.
Head over to his myspace and check out the EP, and if you really enjoy it, consider purchasing the songs. The future of the music industry is in the fans hands like I’ve said time and time again, and guys like Alex Rich deserve all the support they can get, regardless of whether his music is offered free or not. If you don’t buy the album, do me at least one thing and go send him a message on his myspace letting you know how good his stuff is. I’m sure going to. But sit back, relax, and enjoy some great instrumental music from The Soul’s Release.
