Wild Sweet Orange – The Whale EP

The Whale EP could be the best EP I’ve heard all year. I hadn’t received a promo in the mail in a while, so seeing one popping out of my mailbox got me curious as to what album it could be. It ended up being this little number by Wild Sweet Orange, and while the name was a bit strange, I took a liking to the music from the first song I listened to.
After a few listens, I noticed that they were on Canvasback Music, which, while relatively new, still have Annuals, Manchester Orchestra, the Once soundtrack, and now Wild Sweet Orange. It’s a label full of great music and I love it.
There’s really not a lot to say, plus it’s midnight and I’m late night blogging, but I’ve had this EP in my car for a week and a half. Considering it only has five songs on it, that’s saying something. If they keep up this level of songwriting, I can’t wait to hear their full-length, whenever that should come out. That’ll be a treat for sure. But enjoy some great folksy indie rock for your Tuesday and check out the rest of the Canvasback Music artists while you’re at it. I think they’re streaming their EP there as well. I could be wrong.

I found these guys on 3wk internet radio, and did a search… and here I yam! Well it was nice to hear this song via YouTube, thanks for putting it here. I feel kinda foolish cause I was clapping sitting at my computer. Remind me a little of Pe3dro the Lion (well, maybe just a little, but not much… just in that acoustic heartfelt hi quality lyric kind of way…).
Godspeed to Wild Sweet Orange!
