Frightened Rabbit

Frightened Rabbit are a three piece from Scotland and you can definitely hear the accent in the singing.  They signed to FatCat Records recently and a newly remastered version of their last album, Sing the Greys, found it’s way to the U.S. late last year, after being released nearly a year ago in Scotland.

That’s about all I know about the band.  While I’ve enjoyed Sing the Greys, in all it’s lo-fi goodness, I’m personally way more excited about their upcoming release, Midnight Organ Fight.  And I say this after hearing only one song from this upcoming release, “The Modern Leper”, and what a great song it is.  It makes you wonder how three people can make this much noise.  Their live show supposedly is one of the more energetic ones around.  If “The Modern Leper” is any indication, then the production value is going to be like night and day from their last album to this one and that makes me very happy.

Midnight Organ Fight comes out April 15th on FatCat.

Yeah — knocked out by that Modern Leper song. I’ll be excited if they come through Toronto this spring.
