The Perch Mix CD’s Vol. 3 - Love

I just watched Be Kind Rewind. I’ll let you know what I thought this weekend or on Monday. But I haven’t posted another Perch Mix CD from the Christmas present I gave my aunt in a while. So far there’s been Happy and Orchestra. Today, there’s Love. Find the one you love, put on this mix, and let them know how much they mean to you.

And I guess this is as good a time as any to announce that I’m once again taking applications for a girlfriend. If you’re interested, please email your love resume to me any time in the next two weeks. Also, for bonus points, write a 32 word paragraph describing why you are, in fact, the woman of my dreams making sure to include the following words or phrases: musical road adventures, Amelie, Sigur Ros, cheesecake, dance parties, eskimo kisses, and Gobstoppers.

Oh, and I just heard John Cusack is playing me in the upcoming movie based on my life: Must Love Music. On to the mix!

Yay for Bright Eyes & The Format! First Day of My Life is brilliant…I love the guitar part in it. The Format is so good at writing upbeat, happy-sounding songs about sad things. I love the jazzy feel of Dog Problems. I really enjoyed that album as a whole…Oceans is another favorite.
Naked as We Came is pretty amazing too. I don’t seem to like Iron & Wine’s new album as much as the old ones…it’s more folk-sy and not as mellow, I guess, and I’m a sucker for the slow and soft stuff. But Boy with a Coin = good stuff, without a doubt.
Regina’s voice is glorious and Coldplay in my book is simply a classic and must-have on all playlists relating to love.
And your paragraph about girlfriend applications is cute.

He was Pete Yorn’s guitarist for a long time…just released his own record in itunes called the Sweet Bye and Bye…it’s great. Cheers,Danielle

So this was a great mix for getting me through a weekend home with my family!
It was a nice reminder of some of my favorite mood restoring songs, all combined and neatly packed into one appealing mix.
And if you had thought to throw in a Remy Zero with the rest of this collection, I would probably have answered the ad.

ps. I thought Be Kind Rewind was cheesy and beautiful. haha and corny. yet adorable. How about you?

OH, and I forgot to commend your thought to add the New Buffalo to this mix! I LOVED their new album. It made my top 20 albums of the year.

I’m loving this mix. Ryan Adams and Joshua Radin were great choices for this.
