My Float Trip Adventure Told Through Music

Sometimes the best medicine when you’ve been busy as ever, unorganized, and just plain stressed out is to simply leave civilization altogether. Go somewhere where computers don’t exist, your cell phone doesn’t work, and your wallet is completely useless. That place for me was Ponca, Arkansas, camping and floating on the Buffalo river on our annual float trip. This was something like my 13th year going on the float trip, but this one ended up being quite possibly the best, not only for all the great and funny things that happened hanging out with all my dad’s weird side of the family and their friends, but for how perfect the timing of it was. I’ve never been so happy to get away from it all, but now I’m back, and all the more happy because of it. So, to kick things off again now that I’m all refreshed, rejuvinated, and chipper, let’s do a little experiment. Instead of explaining any details, I’ll just post some of my favorite pics from the float trip and let you listen to the song I felt most appropriate to accompany the picture, and you can make up your own story. And let’s make them all water themed as well. How about them apples?

Holy shit. You go on float trips too. I went two years ago with my cousin down the Buffalo and it was one of the best times. We are going again this summer, but not sure which river. Check some of my pics. Yours are great. I love the wilderness and being miles from anywhere. When I went I think we listened to the same mixtape for three days straight. It was always funny looking over my shoulder and seeing two white boys in a canoe rock’n Tupac down a river in AK. Great times.
