I randomly caught the second half of this interview the other day at work and listened to the rest of the interview the day after on NPR.org once it was posted. If you’ve got time today, be sure and give this great interview a listen. There’s a lot of good tidbits of interesting info I didn’t know before in the interview. • Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later, Batman Begins) was originally cast for the role Glen Hansard played
• Glen and Marketa are dating now, so they’re living the sequel in real life!
• Marketa was 17 when they filmed the movie
• Marketa’s father promoted shows on the side and invited bands to their house when they’d come to town. It was when the Frames were invited that Glen and Marketa met.
• Glen left school at 13 to travel and make money playing music
• In the living room scene where they were all singing, the middle age woman singing is Glen’s mom. The living room was Glen and Marketa’s flat.
