You couldn't be more wrong about this episode. Most of it was so un-funny that it was painful to watch. Surfin' Bird is probably one of the most annoying songs in existence... it's possible that a joke could have been made about it, but maybe once, and quickly. The joke gets tired after about five seconds of that banshee's shriek of a song, but Family Guy keeps at it for about half the episode. Every time he's going to sing it can be predicted at the beginning of each scene that he does, and when it's delivered it's not funny, just annoying. Furthermore, the scene where Brian and Stewie destroy the record is an example of the complete lack of talent or originality in the writing staff: rather than come up with something funny, they got a cheap, quick laugh from referencing Office Space. Once again, something that was a small "ha" once you realize what it is, but tires quickly as the scene continues for what feels like an eternity.

Lastly, Jesus hangs out in town? Um, that sounds familiar.... oh right, it's a common element in many original and funny South Park episodes. Once again the Family Guy writing team can't come up with anything funny on their own so they steal it from someone else and make it less entertaining. You'll notice, the South Park episode in which Jesus makes his "second coming" (that'd be "Are You There God? It's Me, Jesus") was roll-on-the-floor hilarious, but "I Dream Of Jesus" was so terrible it made me want to punt a kitten in anger. Seth MacFarlane should be fired and his show finally canceled forever for this crime against an unsuspecting public.
