I’m Alive!

Wow, so many apologies for my week long absence.  My days basically go from 8am to midnight or so every weekday, with work during the day, Lemondrop for 2 or 3 hours, then I get home and people are usually hanging out, or we go downtown.  Then, by the time we get back, it’s super late and I’m dead tired.  Multiply that by 5, and add weekend nights that usually don’t end until 3am or so, and you find me completely neglecting the blog.  Unacceptable, but that’s my life.  Busy, busy, busy.  But it’s midnight and I figured I’d let you all know I’m still here and kicking.  I’ve kept a checklist of stuff I want to write about, so no worries about the blog having a lack of good posts.  On my plate are reviews of Honey Claws, the new Anathallo (amazing follow up by the way), an amazingly unique movie I just watched in Wristcutters, most likely a new Perch Mix, a sixtyone.com highlight post of bands I’ve found on there that I just love, and a lot more.  I’ll give you a solemn promise that I’ll make time every day this week to post.  And if I slack off or claim I’m too busy, I give you permission to slap me.  But for now, here’s a list of some videos I’m sure you’ll like because they’ve become favorites in our circle of friends.  Until the next post, I’ll just talk to you soon gang.  Thanks for sticking around and new music is just around the corner.

-Jizz in my Pants (new Andy Samberg/Timberlake/Lonely Island SNL Digital Short)
-Craig vs. Wild (Craig, aka Kyle Dunnigan, from Reno 911 gives survival tips)
-Kyle Dunnigan stand-up (hilarious use of a loop pedal)
-Dog eats bean burrito in 1 second (no explanation required)
-Bailey the Unknown Reindeer (only a real Scrooge wouldn’t like this video)

Ssion – Street Jizz
(definitely unintentional using that word twice in this post, but this video must be seen.  We saw them end the night last Friday during the weekly Black Box Revue dance party.  Let’s just say you haven’t been to a dance party until you’ve come to one of our Friday night weekly dance parties.  But, these guys were really fun, super weird though, so we decided to look into them, and my God did we ever strike gold.  No, not that it was a good musical find in the least, but that it was one of the most flamingly awesome videos/bands we’d ever come across.  Possibly not safe for work, mainly because if anyone saw you watching this video you’d get one big WTF are you watching response.  You have to admit the song is dang catchy though.  But you won’t find me singing it in public anytime soon.)

Last but not least, a personal favorite of mine that I doubt anyone in the friend circle has ever seen.  But, it’s music related, and this guy gives Andrew Bird and Owen Pallett a run for their money.

Ed Alleyne Johnson – Orange (live)
(I haven’t looked too much into this guy, but he can work the loop pedal/violin combo like none other.  Definitely check out his covers when you have a chance to as well.

Alright, off to bed.  Seacrest out!
