The Pelican’s Perch

This is by no means a gossip site, but I came across this and thought it was hilarious and quite predictable.  Some cheeky board operator took the recorded vocals from Beyonce on the Today Show and leaked them onto the net.   I guess they play the album vocals into the crowd, and they never hear her actual vocals.  But her mic is still on as she sings along with the song and someone recorded it and put it on the net.  All of this is predictable in the over-commercialized world of major label pop music, but I still thought it was funny enough to share with all of you.  Here’s Howard Stern playing it for his listeners.

P.S.  The story gets even better.  Still not a big surprise, but just as funny, there’s a reason she has so much trouble singing her new song.  She STOLE it.  (never mind, she didn’t after all)

Ha.  I can safely say I never expected to recieve that comment in all my days of blogging.  Talk about mainstream music and people come out of the woodworks.  Not five minutes after I posted this, someone was already commenting about it.  Exactly why I don’t touch the crappy mainstream side of the music industry.  I posted this to show people the video, and happened to find the stolen song rumor.  So, sorry Chuck that I take a lot of time out of my week to dig through the indie trenches to find respectable music to share for everyone.  And sorry if I hurt your feelings by making fun of Beyonce.  Now that’s yet another thing I never thought I’d write here at the Perch.  Sorry for making fun of Beyonce.  Ha.  I’ll be back later to post about some real music.
