The Pelican’s Perch

LemonDrop Records is a record label my friend and I started that officially went online September 1st, 2008.  It was my post-graduation project and we’ve spent the last year setting up the label, signing and supporting our bands, and getting our store up and running.

All music on our label is released under the Creative Commons license, which basically says you have creative freedom to do whatever you want with our songs once you purchase them, as long as you don’t make any money from your creation.  Add to that license our “pay what you want” download pricing model, which, like Radiohead did with In Rainbows, lets you pay whatever you feel the music is worth for the download.  It’s revolutionary, experimental, and we feel is the direction the music industry is headed.
